about

Our debut album “The Harvest” was recorded and mixed from May to August 2018 at the Moxa rehearsal-space in Leipzig, Germany. Mastering was done in November 2018 by our fellow friend Falk Andreas (AKA FLK) in Berlin.

After Franziska Schönfeldt and Simon Andersch left Moxa in 2017 we found a new bass player in Giuseppe Tateo and decided to go on as a three-piece band. Relocating our influences into darker and rougher directions we wrote six songs in just a few months and adding two older pieces (Oppenheimer and Caravan) to the set, now in their final form. The topics of this record among others are spinning around life, death, the cyclopean fear of the unknown, the threat of mass-extinction and the current development of mankind into fatal directions.

Impact on our creativity had the sacred text of the Bhagavad Gita (here recited partly by Robert Oppenheimer in connection of describing the aftermath of the Trinity test), the philosophical readings by Jiddu Krishnamurti (“Caravan”), The War Of The Worlds by H.G. Wells (“The Harvest”) as well as the works of H.P. Lovecraft (words of an incantation to resurrect the dead on “Yog Sothoth”).

We would like to thank Tanja Goldbecher’s Violin performance which led “Bad (H)Ombre” into an even gloomier abyss. Further, we would like to thank Tobias Grießbach for his Oud feature and Simon Andersch who played the Tablas on Caravan.

Best wishes, much love and a huge thank you goes out to Giuseppe who left Germany and Moxa after finishing his dissertation.

Finally, we want to thank our families, friends and people who dig the tunes – you know who you are, so do we.

Moxa or Metsa describes the heat produced by the fire at one particular point helps the energy to circulate and reduces the pain. The body is like a bamboo basket full of natural energy passages or connections between the external body and the internal organs. The energy passages are connected to the life force of the organs and their vital functions. ... more
